Sunday Sketch #6 — Why a Bear?

People often ask me,

"Why a bear?"

The answer goes back much further than Club MELLO.

It started when I was a child.

I've always been drawn to anything bear-related. Whether it was storybooks, teddy bears, cartoons, or simply seeing bears represented in different ways, there was just something about them that stayed with me. Long before there was a brand, there was simply a kid who loved bears.

As I got older, I realized that bears represented many of the same qualities I wanted to live by: strength without arrogance, patience, resilience, protection, quiet confidence, creativity, and the courage to stand firm when it matters most.

Those qualities became more than something I admired—they became values I wanted my life and my brand to reflect.

That's why Mello, Juice, and Watcher are bears.

They're not random mascots.

They're a reflection of my childhood, my personality, and the values that helped shape who I am.

Sometimes the things that inspire us as children become the foundation for what we create as adults.

For me...

it all started with a bear.
